Hand crafting
premium red wine takes lots of time. From harvest to release for sale is a
period of 2 years! The longest portion of the process is aging the wine in
barrel for at
least 18 months. Then it is bottled where it will age for another 3 months.
As I learn more and more about winemaking I am continually struck with the mixture of art and science to this effort. With each passing season I am able to learn more and peel away some of the mystery of winemaking. When it all comes together it is very satisfying. Each vintage has presented unique challenges, but the end result has been some wonderful wine. It is a very pleasant experience to share a bottle of really good wine with friends and know it is yours!
