Creating world-class wine requires world-class grapes. An integral part of the Fielding Hills story is the grapes, grapes from our family-owned Riverbend Vineyard. All of the wines produced at Fielding Hills are vineyard-specific, from one vineyard, one very special vineyard located in the renowned Wahluke Slope AVA. Enfolded on three sides by the grand curve of the Columbia River, with roots in the rich volcanic soil, our estate vineyard is situated where long days of blistering sunshine coupled with freezing winters cultivate grapes of exceptional quality.
Near Mattawa, Washington, the Wahluke Slope has an exceptional growing season with a low annual rainfall, high light intensity, and free-draining soils, which all combine to create one of the most critically acclaimed red wine producing regions in the United States.
